How often should I receive massage / craniosacral therapy / coaching?
The work continues to unfold days after a session - if you're coming in for a specific complaint and you're still experiencing pain, discomfort, irritation, etc. a day or two after your session, I recommend coming in again 2-3 days later. Craniosacral therapy especially is a deeply transformational modality, which may seem subtle at first, but when you pay attention, and the more sessions you receive, you'll notice profound changes.
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to prevent any fees. Late cancellations will be charged 50% of the session cost. If I must cancel unexpectedly, you will receive 50% off your next session.
Any information you share with me will be kept private and will not be seen or heard by anyone else unless you sign a consent form. Should my records be subpoenaed by a court of law, I will surrender only portions of my records pertinent to an insurance or medical case.
Illness & Hygiene
I expect you and I to show mutual respect and consideration for each others comfort and health by coming to the session clean, having any open wounds covered, and rescheduling the session if you or I are sick.
Intoxicated clients may be denied massage and charged 50% the cost of the service.
Referrals & Scope of Practice
As a massage therapist, I work with muscles and connective tissue - manipulating it to help you move fluidly and painlessly through life. In some cases it may be best for you to consult another healthcare specialist before the massage. I am not a Medical Doctor and cannot diagnose or treat illness. I will refer you to a doctor, chiropractor, nutritionist, psychotherapist or other specialist when consultation is needed outside my scope of practice
I am a professional massage therapist and will maintain a professional relationship with you as a therapist and client, not engaging in social activities with my clients.
In the massage industry, when you pay the therapist directly, tips are not expected. They are always appreciated, but in this case, not necessary. Like in other service industries, it's one way to express gratitude for excellent service. A customary amount would be 15-25% of the original price.
If you'd like to express gratitude in another way, referrals or reviews on sites such as Yelp or MassageBook are much appreciated. If there is anything I can do to improve your next bodywork experience, please let me know. I welcome the opportunity to grow and learn from my experiences with you. Thank you!
