When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It's to enjoy each step along the way.
-Wayne Dyer
What will it take to actually enjoy each step along the way, even the fumbling, awkward ones?
~
I love to dance, to move, to create. I've found the greatest freedom of movement and creativity through healing old patterns, traumas and pain. Through healing not only my physical body, as you might think is critical for dancing, but also working with the emotional, mental and Spiritual aspects - a holistic approach to healing.
I've realized through my training that we all have trauma. Growing up, I didn't realize how I was affected by my parents divorce - I thought I was fine, unfazed by it. It wasn't until I understood the nervous system that the tears started flowing. At age 8, my nervous system was in a freeze state, unable to feel. It was a natural, intelligent protective response. In relationships throughout my life, my partners would tell me that they didn't know what was happening for me. I wasn't very expressive, and it took me a while to understand what I was feeling. I was numb, and unaware how to thaw. It's like I was hiding behind a frosted glass window. I considered myself to be "simple" and I was grateful for my easy, pleasant life. Except for my lack of connection in relationships. That was the hardest thing.
Finally, in my Biodynamic training, it felt as if someone punched a hole through that frosted glass, revealing a bright, colorful world. Since then, I've continued to clear and open that window, stepping in to an ever-brightening, beautiful world. My self-awareness continues to deepen, allowing me to recognize and process emotions with ease. Trust in myself is increasing, which allows me to trust others more. My relationships with family, friends and partners has deepened. I've learned how to self-regulate when I feel anxious or tired, how to recognize when I'm empathizing with someone else's pain, and how to deal with that. My nervous system has a broader capacity for a wide range of experiences, which allows me to be more present. These days, connection with others comes with more ease and joy.

"I was in need of some loving, oxytocin-producing touch after a stressful couple weeks. Not only did Erin deliver, but by the end of the session, I felt completely relaxed and like I just had a deep tissue massage, yet she mostly touched me with light and medium pressure. I also felt a powerful subtle energy pulsing around my body that seemed regenerative as she completed our time together with some craniosacral therapy." ~ Joshua Gribschaw-Beck, Founder of www.ThriveAliveMusic.com and Business Systems Consultant at www.MyThriveAliveCoach.com
"I really appreciated my session with Erin! I felt deep care, compassion, and communication come through from her. I was able to go deeper into my internal world and navigate my subtle body more easily with her guidance and help. I also love how I feel more equipped with new tools in my toolkit for my own personal practice! Highly recommended!" ~ Tom Bassett
"I have received body work from Erin Casey and appreciate her holistic, whole body approach. After each time, I have left feeling lighter, happier, more free, and more in my body. Recently, Erin spent time de armoring my neck and abdomen. It is as if Erin can feel where my body needs her to focus without me saying a word, though she does welcome me to share what I’m feeling, thinking, needing. I enjoyed her invitation to breath into the areas that were tender and also being given the opportunity to be quiet and feel. I had past memories resurface when she was engaged in a few specific spots. I find it challenging to adequately describe Erin’s energy, skills, and, attunement and feel it best to experience her first hand. Her in depth training and experience with many modalities, as well as her abundant tool box, are powerful and have me continue to come back." ~ Lisa Coppola, RN, CHC
"I went to Erin looking to soothe a jangled nervous system. I wasn’t sure exactly what I needed, but she skillfully guided me to figure that out. She offered lots of great options and openings for my feedback, so I ended up with exactly what I needed. I left feeling unusually cozy and at peace. Erin created a wonderful experience of feeling safe and well attended to at a physically vulnerable time." ~ Anonymous
"I recently sought out Erin Casey to access more personal resources to attract more clientele. She held the space for me in a fun and insightful way. She took the time to find out why I was there and which techniques would be best for me. She chose role playing with 2 chairs. It was a beautiful way to gain access into my intuition. She also did some cranial sacral to integrate the talk part into body awareness. I highly recommend Erin for her coaching!" ~ Zoe
"Erin has an extraordinarily calm presence. Her massage technique feels both physical and emotional. Beyond just loosening up tense muscles, Erin brings something deeper to the table that both my fiancee and I could only describe as the feeling of being cared for. Plus she calmed my spasming lower back better than any therapist ever has. I will recommend her to everyone I know." ~ Rob
"I've been receiving care from Erin for several months. I've received 100's of massage in my life, and find Erin offers a quality of touch that is uniquely nurturing and so lovely. I feel so met and held by her caring and attentive presence. I really appreciate her depth of expertise from anatomical knowledge to energy healing, and across diverse modalities. Overall, her gentle care provides me comprehensive support for body, mind, and spirit that helps me on my path of healing, growth, and self development. I'm so grateful for her." ~ Eros
"Erin has fantastic technique and I am very happy that I found her. After a slip/fall on the ice left me with a splitting headache and shoulder pain, she was able to get me fixed up in just one session. Her rates are reasonable and her massage room is very relaxing. I look forward to seeing her again soon!" ~ Melissa
"I've had several massages from Erin and I've never been disappointed! She is an amazing massage therapist with an intuitive body knowledge which allows her to always gauge exactly what my body needs - even when I don't know myself! She also has a very calm and relaxing presence which sets the perfect tone for a massage. I prefer quiet to talking during massages for the most part, and she has always respected that. Plus, when I was working through some chronic pain in my shoulders from working at a computer all day, she took the time after the massage to give me stretches and exercises (without making me feel guilty for my bad posture!)" ~ Alex
"Loved it! The massage was super relaxing.....even though I had just met her, she was so calm and easy to be with that I felt comfortable from the start. The massage was wonderful - I will definitely go back when I get the chance and will give her number to my friends in Boulder." ~Varuni

Influences through Receiving I am often receiving sessions from various practitioners - out of curiosity, a desire to heal myself, to educate myself about other modalities, and to improve my skills as a practitioner. Though there are some techniques that I'm not certified or able to bring in to my practice, these sessions may influence my work. If you're curious to try any of them yourself, I'm happy give you referrals to other practitioners.
