Relaxing . Nurturing . Enlivening . Human . Divine
Is how a session with Erin may feel.
As a client once said, "anyone can push tissue around," but it takes other skills to make meaningful, lasting change. These skills were taught by John and Anna Chitty in the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy training, and they greatly enhance any healing session, no matter the modality:
The skill of Being: Feeling grounded, centered and neutral. Holding space and having awareness of what is showing up in the moment.
The skill of Relationship: Relating to another being in a way that feels safe, connected and open to giving and receiving.
The skill of Listening: Feeling and listening to what is showing up currently in the body, mind and spirit. What wants to be heard, felt, seen right now?
The skills of Communication and Understanding: Responding to what's showing up in the moment. Acknowledging how things have been and seeking clear understanding of what is wanted and needed.
What is your body wanting right now? Relief from stress and pain is just the beginning. How much joy can you possibly feel in your body? How much freedom would your body like to experience and express?

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

A light-touch hands-on modality that works with the body's subtle tides to gently ease the body out of it's habitual patterns and back into health. It's often paired with Polarity therapy to heal nervous system dysfunctions and emotional traumas. It's recommended for anyone at any stage of their life, from pre-birth and newborn to those ready to pass on. It can be used to help recover quickly from surgery or any injury, and works well in combination with massage. Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is not a technique specific to the cranium, although it can include detailed work there, and is excellent at relieving headaches, TMJ and other dysfunctions in the head. Intuitive, Integrative Massage

Nurturing, listening touch. Each type of touch has it's own purpose. And each body responds differently to different qualities of touch. My intentions with massage are to open up the stuck places, as appropriate, as they're ready to open; to enliven the body; to bring greater awareness to what's happening in your body; to help you settle and relax so the body can heal itself; and to provide loving, nurturing contact.
Techniques will be tailored to your individual needs. May include Swedish, deep tissue, lymph drainage, orthopedic, neuromuscular therapy, Phenomenal Touch, stretching, and reflexology.
Somatic Coaching
Somatic coaching can include a wide array of techniques, either in person, over the phone, or online via Zoom, a free and easy-to-use video conferencing app.
It usually begins with a guided somatic meditation to drop us in to a resonant field, then we go in to what's alive for you in the moment. I find that working with what is most present, including what is currently showing up in the body, mind and energy field, is more effective than trying to tackle all the things that have been in the head for the past week. Somatic coaching may include Polarity Two-Chair, where I invite you to switch back and forth between two chairs that represent states of being, different people, or different parts of yourself. I guide you in to a conversation with these parts as you notice the sensations in your body and allow the energy to shift. Often people feel more relaxed, clear in the mind, and physically comfortable, and are able to release some blocks to what they truly desire. A session may include other self-healing techniques, distance energy healing, and simply deep listening to self and Spirit to allow universal wisdom to guide us.
Somatic coaching is effective to:
Re-pattern your nervous system
Recover from traumatic events
Reduce anxiety and depression
Make difficult decisions more easily
Open up numb parts to feel more flow and pleasure
Release habits and triggers
Increase your capacity to experience more joy in life
May include techniques from Somatic Experiencing, Access Consciousness, self-energy healing and general awareness and mindfulness practices. When combined with bodywork in a session, coaching can be done before, during or after hands-on work.
Healing from trauma, whether it happened in childhood or just this week, can be done with ease as we focus on the physical sensations of the body (somatic = "of the body"). Difficult decisions may become more clear as you learn how to reveal your truth. Neural networks can be rewired to help you feel more at ease in triggering situations.
Touch therapy can be incorporated into a session to fully integrate the mind, emotions, body and spirit. Alternatively, a session solely with coaching can relieve a lot of tension on its own and you may realize that hands-on bodywork isn't necessary to change your physical experience.
Access Bars
Are you ready to change habits with ease and create the life you want? This energy healing modality will at least feel like a deeply relaxing massage. At best it could change your life. I lightly touch specific points on the head to dissipate the electromagnetic charge that gets locked in the brain by the thoughts, feelings and emotions that have been stored over lifetimes. This helps open up space in your mind, body and spirit to more easily create the life you desire.
What to expect
In your first session, we'll take 10-20 minutes to discuss what's up for you right now. What are your needs and goals for your health? What is resourceful for you, or what feels good to you in your life? What are your current challenges and what would you like to improve? From there, we could either go into somatic coaching as you're seated or move right into hands-on bodywork on the table.
During the session, I may guide you to notice specific things in your body. Physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts may surface, and that can all be informative in a healing session. Becoming aware of and curious about these details of your inner landscape can help transform and shift whatever issue you're working through. For the greatest change, it's important to be present during your session, not checked out or dissociated. Sometimes falling asleep during a session is restful, sometimes it's counter-productive. We'll work together to find the best solution for your nervous system and body at the time.
I invite you to speak up for your needs throughout the session - if you'd like different music, different pressure, or want to move around as you receive, etc. These sessions are co-creative - you and I each have different insights on you and your being, so let's work together to create the most harmony, clarity, ease and joy in your body, mind and spirit.
